In a surprising turn of events, Jama MLA Sita Soren dealt a blow to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) today by resigning from the party and joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Soren, who is also the daughter-in-law of JMM supremo Shibu Soren, tendered her resignation citing neglect from the party following the demise of her husband, Durga Soren.
Expressing her grievances in the resignation letter addressed to her father-in-law and party leader Shibu Soren, Sita Soren lamented the lack of support and attention from the party towards her and her family during the challenging period after her husband’s passing.
The decision to part ways with the JMM marks a significant shift in Sita Soren’s political allegiance, as she had been an integral part of the party for several years. Her move to join the BJP is seen as a strategic maneuver, potentially altering the political landscape in Jharkhand.
With Sita Soren’s departure, the JMM faces the task of reorganizing its ranks, while the BJP gains a notable addition to its cadre. The implications of this political switch are poised to reverberate across the state’s political arena in the coming days.
