For the first time since the abrogation of Article 370, elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to strengthen democracy by participating actively in the elections. He emphasized that voting is crucial in the first phase of these historic elections. Today, polling is taking place for 24 seats across three districts in the Jammu region and four districts in the Kashmir Valley.
Meanwhile, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge shared his thoughts on social media, saying that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are eager for change, aiming to begin a new era of genuine development. He appealed to all voters to exercise their democratic rights, ensuring a bright future for the state.
This election marks a significant moment in the region’s history, symbolizing a fresh start as Jammu and Kashmir moves forward after the significant constitutional changes in 2019. The participation of the people will play a key role in shaping the future of the entire state, ensuring that democratic values remain strong.
