Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted India’s potential to seize new growth opportunities despite global economic challenges. Speaking at Columbia University, she said India is aiming to become a key partner for countries diversifying their supply chains.
Sitharaman emphasized India’s focus on strengthening domestic capabilities and building resilience to external shocks. She noted that while multilateral trade has driven growth in recent decades, the future will be shaped by strategic economic partnerships, and India is ready to capitalize on this shift.
During her visit to New York, Sitharaman addressed a round table conference at the New York Stock Exchange on investment opportunities in India and discussed economic reforms with IBM CEO Arvind Krishna.
