Hemant Soren, the Executive President of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), took oath today as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand. The oath ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan, where Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office to Soren.
The event was attended by Hemant Soren’s father and JMM Supremo Shibu Soren, his mother Rupi Soren, his wife Kalpana, and senior leaders of the JMM-led coalition. Former Chief Minister Champai Soren was also present at the ceremony.
Hemant Soren’s swearing-in marks a significant moment in Jharkhand’s political landscape. It comes after his release from jail on June 28, following a bail granted by the Jharkhand High Court in a money laundering case related to an alleged land scam. Soren had been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on January 31 and had resigned from his Chief Minister post shortly before his arrest.
Soren’s return to the Chief Minister’s office is seen as a pivotal moment for the JMM and its allies. His family and supporters are hopeful that his leadership will bring stability and progress to the state. The ceremony was marked by enthusiasm and optimism, with many looking forward to the new government’s initiatives under Soren’s leadership.
