A significant development has unfolded in Haryana politics as former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has penned a letter to the Governor, urging for a floor test in the Legislative Assembly. In his letter, Chautala, representing the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), labeled the Governor as the chairperson of the Assembly and emphasized the need for a confidence vote, citing the withdrawal of support by three independent MLAs from the government.

Chautala’s move comes in the wake of shifting alliances, with JJP announcing support for Bhupinder Singh Hooda of the Congress party. Reacting to this, Hooda criticized JJP, accusing them of being the government’s ‘B team’. He demanded written assurance from JJP regarding their support, stating that only then would the Congress delegation push for the imposition of President’s rule.

The political landscape in Haryana is witnessing increased volatility, with the Congress claiming the support of around 40 former MLAs and MPs. As tensions escalate and alliances realign, all eyes are on the Legislative Assembly session to gauge the government’s stability through a crucial floor test.
