Gulab Chand Kataria has been appointed as the new Governor of Punjab, replacing Banwari Lal Purohit, who resigned from the position on February 3. President Droupadi Murmu has recently announced several key appointments and transfers, including the appointment of six new governors and the transfer of three.
Kataria, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will officially assume office as the Governor of Punjab on July 31.
