Bollywood actor Govinda, aged 60, was injured in an accidental shooting early Tuesday morning at his Juhu residence. The incident happened as he was preparing to leave for Mumbai airport, intending to catch a flight to Kolkata for a show. According to the police, while Govinda was placing his revolver in a closet, the firearm accidentally discharged, and a bullet struck his leg.
Govinda was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors successfully removed the bullet. The actor, now out of danger, has since returned home. Mumbai Police have confirmed that the situation was managed effectively, and Govinda is recovering well.
In an audio message to his fans, Govinda expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am fine now due to the prayers of my fans, parents, and God’s grace. I had a bullet, which has now been removed. I want to thank Dr. Agarwal and everyone for their prayers.” Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, added that the actor was originally scheduled to depart for the airport around 5:30 am for his 6 am flight.
Govinda’s fans, who have always adored him for his on-screen charm and energy, have been sending their love and prayers for his quick recovery.
