In a recent statement to the Supreme Court, the Central Government has opposed the cancellation of the entire NEET-UG 2024 examination. The Ministry of Education argued that canceling the exam would not be reasonable and would jeopardize the future of millions of honest students.
The statement was submitted in response to a group of petitions filed by candidates, coaching institutes, and parents, who demanded the cancellation due to alleged issues. The Ministry emphasized that canceling the whole exam would be unfair to the numerous students who prepared diligently.
The government asserted that unless there is concrete evidence of a nationwide question paper leak, the exam should not be canceled. They highlighted that the NEET results have already been declared and invalidating the exam now would be a disservice to the hardworking students.
The Ministry further stated that canceling the exam would undermine the efforts and aspirations of capable candidates who have already received their results. The government’s stance aims to protect the interests of these students while ensuring the integrity of the examination process.
