Government Launches Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme to Support Youth

The government has officially launched the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme on a pilot basis, aimed at providing financial support to young individuals. Under this scheme, youth aged 21 to 24 years who are selected for internships will receive an annual stipend of ₹66,000.

The initiative aims to offer internships to one crore youth over the next five years, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing employment opportunities and skill development among the younger population. A government source announced that the estimated cost of the project is ₹800 crore, which will be allocated to support this initiative.

Internships are set to begin on December 2, with registration for interested candidates open from October 12 to October 25. This program is expected to not only help youth gain valuable work experience but also provide them with financial assistance to support their internship journey. The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme is part of a broader effort to empower the youth and promote skill development in various sectors across the country.
