Starting April 16, all government hospitals in Punjab will operate with new summer timings. According to the new schedule, hospitals will now remain open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This change has been made to adjust to the rising summer temperatures and will remain in effect until October 15.

These new timings will apply to all types of government healthcare facilities across the state. This includes District Hospitals, Sub-Divisional Hospitals, Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), Aam Aadmi Clinics, Ayushman Health and Wellness Centres, and ESI Hospitals.

It is important for the public to note these changes before visiting any government hospital for treatment. Since these timings will be followed strictly, people are advised to leave their homes accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.

Another key point to remember is that the registration counters at the hospitals will open 30 minutes before the hospital timings, i.e., by 7:30 AM. Meanwhile, emergency services will continue to operate 24 hours a day, as they did previously.

There will be no change in the working hours of hospital administrative offices. These offices will continue to function from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, even during the summer months.

This adjustment in hospital timings is a regular move by the health department every year during summer. It is aimed at providing better comfort to both patients and healthcare workers during the hot weather.
