Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh Celebrates 92nd Birthday, Receives Warm Wishes from Leaders Across the Nation

Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh turned 92 on Thursday, receiving heartfelt congratulations from political leaders and citizens alike. Congress leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, praised him for his contributions to the nation.

Prime Minister Modi extended his wishes via social media platform ‘X,’ saying, “Happy birthday to Dr. Manmohan Singh. I pray for his long and healthy life.”

Rahul Gandhi also tweeted on ‘X,’ expressing admiration for Singh’s humility, wisdom, and selfless service. “Your commitment to building our nation inspires millions of Indians, including me. Wishing you good health and happiness,” he wrote.

Dr. Singh served as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, leading the UPA government. Before that, from 1991 to 1996, he served as Finance Minister under PV Narasimha Rao, where he initiated key economic reforms and liberalization policies that shaped modern India.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, along with the Congress Party, also sent their best wishes to the former Prime Minister. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra called him a “pioneer of liberalization and economic reforms” in her message.

Born in 1932 in the village of Gah, now in Pakistan’s Chakwal district, Dr. Singh is widely regarded for his contributions to India’s economic growth and development. His legacy as a scholar, economist, and statesman continues to inspire future generations.
