Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court. Soren, who had been in jail for the past five months, was released due to a lack of concrete evidence against him in a money laundering case.

The High Court’s decision came as a relief to Soren and his supporters. The court noted that the prosecution failed to present solid proof linking Soren directly to the alleged money laundering activities. This lack of substantial evidence led the judges to conclude that continuing to keep Soren in custody was unjustified.

Soren was arrested five months ago on charges of being involved in a large-scale money laundering operation. The case had caused significant political turbulence in Jharkhand, with many of Soren’s supporters claiming that the charges were politically motivated.

Upon hearing the news of his bail, Soren’s supporters gathered outside the courthouse, celebrating the decision. Soren himself expressed gratitude towards the judiciary, stating that he had faith in the legal system and was confident that justice would prevail.

This development marks a significant turn in Jharkhand’s political landscape, as Soren prepares to return to active politics. His release is expected to stir the political dynamics in the state, with many awaiting his next move.

The court has scheduled the next hearing of the case for later this year, where the prosecution is expected to present more evidence. Until then, Soren remains free on bail, with conditions set by the court.
