The Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ugrahan), Bharatiya Kisan Union (DHANER), and Krantikari Kisan Union (India) have jointly declared a district-level protest march slated for March 5 in Punjab, condemning the central BJP government’s handling of farmers’ concerns, particularly the absence of a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP). Presidents of the respective organizations – Joginder Singh Ugrahan, Manjit Singh Dhaner, and Dr. Darshanpal – issued a collaborative statement following a meeting held yesterday.
The farmer leaders fervently called upon all struggling farmer organizations in Punjab to actively partake in these protest marches, extending the invitation to farmers, laborers, and their families. Additionally, an invitation has been extended to commemorate the legacy of Martyr Shubkaran Singh Ballho in the Dana Mandi village on March 3. The collective effort underscores the farmers’ united front against what they perceive as the government’s negligence towards their demands, especially the assurance of a legal MSP.
