In a demonstration of solidarity, farmers staged a ‘Rel Roko’ protest, obstructing train services at 52 locations in Punjab and Haryana today. The protest, organized by the United Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, unfolded from 12 noon to 4 pm, affecting rail operations and inconveniencing passengers.

Ludhiana railway station witnessed significant disruptions, prompting stranded passengers to seek alternative modes of transportation. Faced with the ongoing protest, many opted for other means to reach their destinations as farmers stood firm in their demonstration.

The ‘Rel Roko’ protest aimed to draw attention to farmers’ concerns and advocate for their rights. Patiala railway station also became a focal point of the demonstration, as farmers voiced their grievances in solidarity with the larger movement.

The widespread participation in the protest underscores the intensity of farmers’ demands and their commitment to seeking redressal for issues affecting their livelihoods. As the ‘Rel Roko’ initiative unfolded, it not only disrupted railway services but also served as a powerful expression of the ongoing agrarian concerns in the region.
