In the ongoing Kisan Andolan 2.0, farmers at the Shambhu border remain resolute on their demands, including Minimum Support Price (MSP). Today marks the 14th day of the protest, and despite four rounds of talks with the government yielding no resolution, farmers, led by Bharatiya Kisan Union and Sanyukta Kisan Morcha, plan a tractor march towards Delhi along the Yamuna Expressway.
The farmers, determined not to back down, have halted their march until February 29. Tensions have escalated, resulting in clashes between security forces and protesters on the Haryana and Punjab borders. Tragically, lives have been lost on both sides.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the government, a farmers’ leader announced plans to park tractors on the left side of the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway and occupy the route from 11 am to 3 pm. Despite assurances from the Bharatiya Kisan Union for a peaceful tractor march, the authorities have sealed borders, anticipating potential disruptions.
Amidst this ongoing standoff, the farmers vow to continue their fight, emphasizing their commitment to a cross-border battle until their demands are met. The government’s alleged failure to uphold promises adds fuel to the farmers’ determination, leaving the nation watching as the impasse unfolds.
