In a significant development, leaders of the ‘Sayukta Kisan Morcha’ announced during a meeting in Ludhiana that a Mahapanchayat has been scheduled for March 14. Over 50,000 farmers from Punjab, alongside an equal number from various states, are expected to converge in Delhi for the event.

Amidst discussions, farmers’ leaders highlighted their decision to leave tractor-trolleys behind, adhering to the government’s request not to bring them to the demonstration. Instead, farmers plan to travel to Delhi using trains, buses, and personal means, ensuring a smooth and peaceful march.

Addressing concerns about permission, leaders assured that the march has the Delhi administration’s approval. However, contingency plans are in place, with a follow-up meeting slated for March 11 in case permission is denied, aiming to strategize the next steps.

On the political front, leaders shared insights about farmers’ organizations rejoining the front after participating in elections. Notably, those wishing to contest elections are encouraged to do so by resigning from the front.

The Mahapanchayat signifies a united front, bringing together farmers from diverse regions to voice their collective concerns. The anticipation builds for this landmark event, where the farming community aims to express its demands peacefully and garner support for their cause.
