In a press conference held in Delhi today, farmer leaders Sarawan Singh Pandher and Jagjit Singh Dallewal from the non-political Sanyukta Kisan Morcha announced a nationwide tractor march on August 15. The march will be part of a series of demonstrations scheduled from August 1 to September 22, which will include burning copies of the new criminal law. The leaders urged farmers to gather at the Delhi borders, including Shambhu and Singhu, for these protests.

The farmers will also mark 200 days of their initial protest on August 31 with a rally in Jind, followed by another rally in Pipli, Haryana. The leaders are advocating for legal guarantees for their demands, countering government claims that this could harm the economy.

They have consulted economic experts who refute these concerns. Additionally, they emphasized that democratic opposition should not be hindered, citing a court’s stance that farmers cannot be barred from entering Haryana. Despite ongoing protests, around 400 farmers remain stationed at the Shambhu border.
