Police have registered a case of fraud against a man accused of posing as a doctor using a fake medical degree. The individual had reportedly worked at a government hospital under false credentials and was previously associated with a political party’s medical cell in an official capacity.
The case was registered on April 5 following a court order after a complaint alleged that the man used a forged AYUSH degree to gain employment at a prominent government hospital in Jabalpur, previously known as Victoria Hospital. According to officials, the man worked there for a considerable period without having the necessary qualifications or credentials.
The investigation began after the complaint reached the authorities, prompting legal action. A case under relevant sections of fraud has been filed, and further inquiries are underway to verify the extent of the deception and the duration for which the accused worked using the fake degree.
Local party leadership confirmed that they have sought detailed information regarding the matter and assured strict action in line with the party’s principles. They emphasized that no such misconduct would be tolerated, and disciplinary measures would be taken once the facts are verified.
The case has raised serious concerns about verification procedures within government institutions and political organizations. It also highlights the potential risks to public health and safety when unqualified individuals are allowed to practice medicine. Authorities continue to investigate how the fake credentials went unnoticed and who might have facilitated or overlooked the irregularity.
