In a pivotal meeting today, the Chief Minister of Punjab convened with all Deputy Commissioners of the state to deliberate on the effective implementation of pro-people schemes. Addressing the media after the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the significance of the gathering, stating that it primarily centered around strategies to enhance the well-being of the citizens.

Highlighting the imminent budget presentation for the country, the Chief Minister disclosed plans to align Punjab’s budget with the national allocation after tomorrow’s announcement. He underlined the importance of scrutinizing the share allocated to Punjab in the national budget before formulating the state’s financial plan.

During the meeting, the issue of straw management took center stage, with the Chief Minister seeking input from various Deputy Commissioners. Additionally, discussions centered on doorstep delivery services, lauded for their positive reception among the populace.

Addressing the water situation, the Chief Minister acknowledged Punjab’s historical association with abundant water resources but expressed concern over its mismanagement. He assured the public that concerted efforts are underway to redirect water from canals to agricultural fields, underscoring the urgency of the task.

Providing insights into healthcare initiatives, the Chief Minister announced the completion of 150 new mohalla clinics, benefiting nearly 98 lakh residents. He also noted a recent policy change effective January 26, ensuring that prescribed medicines from government hospitals can be conveniently obtained within the same facility.

Focusing on flood prevention, the Chief Minister conveyed strict directives to Deputy Commissioners, emphasizing the proactive release of the budget for these measures. Touching upon infrastructure development, he explained that while road construction typically occurs in summer, funds have already been allocated for the upcoming projects.

Asserting the government’s commitment to progress, the Chief Minister declared Punjab’s leadership as the most advanced, promising positive developments in employment opportunities. He issued a call for dedication, stating that those unwilling to contribute earnestly should step aside, assuring an abundance of sincere and honest officers.

In a final note of optimism, the Chief Minister commended the skill and potential of Punjab’s youth, hinting at a continuous influx of job opportunities in the foreseeable future.
