Election Commission Gears Up for Elections, Reviews Security Measures with Home Ministry

In a crucial development ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Election Commission officials convened a meeting with top Home Ministry officials to meticulously assess security arrangements. Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla engaged in discussions today with Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Arun Goyal, emphasizing the strategic deployment of central forces across states.

This pre-election meeting, strategically timed before the commission’s on-site review of preparations, focused on the mobilization of 3.4 lakh Central Armed Police Force personnel for the upcoming Lok Sabha and four Vidhan Sabha elections. With a staggering 97 crore voters nationwide, the Election Commission is gearing up to establish approximately 12.5 lakh polling stations to ensure a seamless electoral process.

In a bid to enhance coordination and efficiency, the Election Commission will also hold a dedicated meeting with top officials of the Railways. These comprehensive efforts underscore the commitment of the Election Commission to uphold the integrity and security of the electoral process, a crucial aspect considering the vast scale and significance of the impending elections.
