The Delhi High Court has reserved its judgment on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s pleas challenging his arrest by the CBI in the Excise Policy case and seeking interim bail. Kejriwal’s lawyer opposed the CBI’s arrest and requested bail for him in the case. Despite the Muharram holiday, Justice Neena Bansal Krishna heard the arguments from both Kejriwal’s and the CBI’s lawyers. Following the hearings, the judge reserved her decision on the interim bail applications.
The High Court has scheduled further arguments on Kejriwal’s regular bail application for July 29. This case involves the Delhi Chief Minister’s alleged involvement in irregularities related to the Excise Policy, which the CBI is investigating. Kejriwal has maintained his innocence and called the charges politically motivated. The court’s decision on the interim bail will be crucial, as it will determine whether Kejriwal can be released temporarily while the case continues. The upcoming hearing on July 29 will provide further clarity on the court’s stance regarding the regular bail application.
