A Delhi court is set to deliver its verdict on the bail application of Jammu and Kashmir Lok Sabha MP Engineer Rashid on Wednesday, November 20. Rashid, an MP from Baramulla, is accused in a terror funding case.
The decision was initially scheduled for Monday but was postponed by Additional Sessions Judge Chandrajit Singh. Along with the bail verdict, the court will also decide if Rashid’s case should be transferred to the MP/MLA court, which handles cases involving legislators.
Earlier, the judge had indicated that the case could move to the special court for MPs and MLAs since Rashid is now a Member of Parliament.
Rashid was previously arrested in connection with alleged links to terror funding activities in Jammu and Kashmir. His bail plea has been under review as part of ongoing legal proceedings.
The outcome of Wednesday’s hearing will clarify both Rashid’s immediate legal status and the appropriate jurisdiction for his trial. Investigations into the matter are still underway.
