In a startling development, the President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, has strongly criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for allegedly disturbing the sacred ambiance of the heritage road leading to Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.
Advocate Dhami expressed deep concern over the intrusion of government advertisements on screens erected along the path to the revered Sikh shrine. He lamented that Gurudwaras should exude a religious serenity, solely illuminated by the light of Gurbani, rather than being overshadowed by the government’s purported achievements.
“It is sad that Gurudwaras, where the Sangat assembles to absorb Guru Sahib’s teachings, are being marred by the darkness of government advertisements,” remarked Advocate Dhami, emphasizing the sanctity of these spiritual places.
Furthermore, he accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of not respecting the sacred surroundings of Guru houses, where a multitude of devotees pay obeisance with unwavering devotion. The President of the Shiromani Committee decried the intrusion into these sacred spaces and called for immediate rectification.
Advocate Dhami revealed that objections from the Sangat have been forwarded regarding a screen installed at the main door of Gurdwara Sri Santokhsar Sahib. He vehemently asserted that screens displaying government ads are not only contrary to Sikh morals but also offend the sentiments of the Sangat.
The Shiromani Committee President issued a stern demand for the prompt removal of these screens, asserting that they stand as an affront to the spiritual sanctity of Gurudwaras. He urged the government to prioritize the preservation of the religious atmosphere, ensuring that only the divine teachings of Gurbani illuminate these sacred spaces.
As this controversy unfolds, the Sikh community waits anxiously for a resolution that upholds the cherished sanctity of their spiritual heritage.
