After the recently concluded Lok Sabha Elections 2024, the political landscape of Punjab has changed, with the Congress winning seven seats. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won three seats, while the Shiromani Akali Dal won one and independent candidates two.

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Amarinder Singh Raja Waring has won the Ludhiana Lok Sabha seat which has become a question of honor for the party. Raja Waring won with a significant lead of about 20,000 votes.

Despite tireless efforts, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffered a setback in Punjab, failing to win a single seat, including Ludhiana. BJP’s candidate Ravneet Singh Bittu was unsuccessful, but remained second from Ludhiana constituency.

On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party candidate and sitting MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi stood third from Ludhiana which shows the presence of the party in the electoral field.

Congress’ victory in Ludhiana is not only a testament to Raja Waring’s leadership but also highlights the party’s enduring support base in the region. With a significant margin of victory, Raja Waring’s victory reflects the confidence the voters of Ludhiana have in the vision and agenda of the Congress.

As political dynamics evolve post-election, Punjab sends a message with diverse representation in the Lok Sabha, reflecting the plurality of voices and interests within the state. The absence of BJP representation in Ludhiana marks a shift in political dynamics, setting the stage for new strategies and alliances in the state’s political landscape.
