The Congress criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not visiting Manipur, a state that has witnessed significant violence. The party accused him of prioritizing international trips over addressing the concerns of people in the northeastern state.

Marking the first anniversary of the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,’ Congress leaders took aim at the Prime Minister’s inaction. Rahul Gandhi, reflecting on the 6,700 km-long journey that began in Manipur on January 14 last year, said, “From Manipur to Mumbai, we witnessed injustice, understood people’s suffering, and felt the discrimination they endure. This journey awakened India to fight for its rights. The road ahead is tough, but our determination is unwavering.”

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also highlighted the yatra’s significance, noting it spanned 6,600 km across 15 states. He criticized the Prime Minister for avoiding a visit to Manipur, saying, “Manipur still waits for PM Modi, who has time to travel the world but cannot meet the affected people of this state.”

Ramesh alleged that Modi has refused to meet Manipur politicians, including Chief Minister Biren Singh and BJP MLAs, further highlighting the lack of attention given to the crisis in the region.
