The Congress party has once again voiced its demand for a Supreme Court-supervised investigation into the electoral bond case, labeling the scheme as “opaque” and alleging that it facilitates the transfer of bribes through various banking channels. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh asserted that once the coalition government is formed at the Centre, a thorough inquiry into the electoral bond scam will be initiated. Ramesh further announced plans to establish a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to investigate the Adani case and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to scrutinize the PM-CARES fund.

Taking aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ramesh accused him of reneging on his promise to tackle black money, instead accusing him of “legalizing corruption” and attempting to conceal it. The Congress’s stance underscores its commitment to transparency and accountability in electoral processes and government funds. As political tensions escalate, the call for a comprehensive investigation into alleged malpractices gains momentum, setting the stage for potential legal and political ramifications.
