Congress Appoints Senior Observers for Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly Elections

The Congress party has appointed 11 senior observers for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. Among the key appointees are former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Party general secretary Sachin Pilot is also included in the list.

For the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Congress has chosen senior leaders Tariq Anwar, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, and Bhatti Wickermarka Mallu as senior observers. This is part of the party’s preparation for the crucial state polls.

In addition to these appointments, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has made Mukul Wasnik and Avinash Pande senior coordinators for the Maharashtra elections. The party is gearing up for a challenging contest in the state, aiming to strengthen its position.

A statement released by Congress general secretary KC Venugopal confirmed that Ashok Gehlot and Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara will oversee operations in Mumbai and the Konkan region. Bhupesh Baghel, Charanjit Singh Channi, and Umang Singar, the Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, have been tasked with handling the Vidarbha region.

These appointments reflect the Congress’s focus on a well-coordinated and strategic approach in key electoral states. The party aims to leverage the experience of senior leaders to maximize its chances of success in the upcoming elections.
