The Congress party has announced its second list of 23 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections scheduled for November 20. Previously, the party released a list of 48 candidates, bringing the total to 71 candidates announced so far. Congress leaders expressed confidence in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, dismissing any speculation of internal differences.

Ramesh Chennithala, the All India Congress Committee’s in-charge for Maharashtra, confirmed the MVA alliance’s commitment to contest the elections together, aiming to address the aspirations of the people of Maharashtra. He underscored the unity among MVA partners and expressed optimism that their coalition will secure victory in the state.

During a press conference following the Congress Election Committee meeting on Friday, Ramesh emphasized that the people of Maharashtra are prepared to challenge what he described as a “corrupt government.” The Congress is hopeful that the MVA alliance, which includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction), will receive strong support from voters, ultimately forming the next government in Maharashtra.

The Congress’s announcement reflects its strategy to mobilize MVA resources effectively in the lead-up to the state elections.
