The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch a 15-day nationwide awareness campaign starting from April 20 to highlight the benefits of the amended Waqf Act and counter the criticism coming from opposition parties. The campaign will focus especially on reaching out to the Muslim community across the country.

This announcement was made during a BJP workshop held in New Delhi, where party president J.P. Nadda and Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju addressed party delegates. BJP leaders and office bearers from across India participated in the event.

In his address, Nadda accused opposition parties of misleading Muslims for vote-bank politics. He claimed that these parties are spreading false information about the provisions of the amended Waqf Act. Nadda emphasized that the BJP-led government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to transparent and efficient management of Waqf properties.

He added that the government’s goal is to include backward Muslims, especially the Pasmanda community and women, in the management of Waqf properties and welfare programs. The campaign will aim to clarify the government’s intentions and ensure that people understand the reforms correctly.

Party sources said the awareness drive will involve meetings, social media outreach, and community interactions to explain the changes in the law and how they benefit the Muslim community. It is also intended to build trust and promote inclusiveness.

This initiative is seen as part of the BJP’s broader strategy to connect with minority communities and challenge the narrative set by opposition parties regarding the government’s approach to minority welfare.
