In a scathing critique aimed at recent political defections, Member of Parliament from Jalandhar, M. P. Pratap Singh Bajwa, has lambasted the BJP for poaching two prominent leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Sushil Kumar Rinku and MLA Sheetal Angural. Bajwa, expressing his discontentment, took to social media to voice his disapproval, stating, “They took our one and they took their two.”
The MP’s remarks underscore a growing trend of political instability and opportunism, with parties frequently witnessing high-profile desertions. Bajwa’s comment, “Bhagwant Maan ji, you dug the hole in our path, now you yourself have fallen face down into that well,” reflects the shifting alliances and the repercussions faced by parties engaging in such strategies.
Accompanying his criticism, Bajwa shared images showcasing the flux in political affiliations. These included former Congress MLA Raj Kumar Chabewal rejoining the Congress fold, juxtaposed with the defections of AAP stalwarts to the BJP ranks.
The developments highlight the volatile nature of Indian politics, where allegiance can swiftly change, leading to unforeseen consequences. Bajwa’s words serve as a cautionary tale, reminding politicians of the risks inherent in political maneuvering and the potential backlash it may bring.
