Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a significant rally in Anaj Mandi, Ludhiana today, showing strong support for BJP candidate Ravneet Singh Bittu. The city saw a heavy deployment of 2,000 policemen to ensure security for the event. Shah began his speech with a tribute to Punjab’s rich tradition and the sacrifices of the Sikh Gurus, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, and Lala Lajpat Rai.

“My Gurudev taught me two things about Punjab,” Shah said. “If there is no Punjab, the country is not safe, and if there is no Punjab, the country’s stomach cannot be satisfied. Punjab has always stood as the nation’s protector, from Babur and Aurangzeb’s invasions to modern threats.”

Highlighting the historical significance of Punjab’s contributions, Shah emphasized the sacrifices made by Guru Tegh Bahadur for the protection of Hindus, reflecting on the enduring spirit of Punjab’s soldiers and their role in defending the nation.

Shah confidently predicted a BJP victory in the upcoming elections, claiming that the party would secure more than 400 seats. He urged the people of Punjab to support BJP candidates, particularly praising Ravneet Singh Bittu’s dedication, even recalling their friendship during Bittu’s tenure in Congress. Shah assured the public that Bittu would bring prosperity to Punjab if elected.

Taking jabs at political opponents, Shah mentioned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s impending legal troubles and criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his frequent foreign trips. He contrasted this with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment, highlighting Modi’s tradition of celebrating Diwali with soldiers.

“This election is a contest between Rahul Gandhi, who vacations abroad, and Narendra Modi, who dedicates his time to serving the nation,” Shah declared. He accused the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress of opportunistic politics, suggesting their alliance was a convenience rather than a genuine partnership.

Shah concluded by appealing to the voters to elect BJP representatives to ensure Punjab’s development and stability under Modi’s leadership.
