Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized that Hindi and other Indian languages are not competitors but work together to enrich each other. In his message on Hindi Day, Shah congratulated the people of India, reminding them of the spirit of the Constituent Assembly, which believed that every citizen should communicate in any Indian language, whether it is Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, or Gujarati.
Shah noted that by strengthening Hindi, all Indian languages would become more flexible and prosperous. He expressed that the harmony between languages helps in preserving and promoting India’s rich culture, history, literature, and values. This year’s Hindi Day holds special significance as it marks the 75th anniversary of Hindi being adopted as the official language by the Constituent Assembly in 1949.
Calling it the Diamond Jubilee of Rajbhasha, Shah urged all citizens to pledge to strengthen both Hindi and local languages. He stressed the importance of unity in diversity and the role of language in building a strong cultural identity for the nation.
The Home Minister also participated in several events to celebrate Hindi Day, encouraging all Indians to honor and promote their linguistic heritage.
