Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at a Police Memorial Day event, said that while India has established peace in Jammu and Kashmir, the North-East, and Naxal-affected areas, the fight against terrorism, infiltration, and efforts to create religious tension will go on. He assured that India’s progress towards becoming a fully developed nation by 2047 will not be hindered.
Shah also paid tribute to the 36,438 police personnel who have sacrificed their lives since independence, with 216 officers martyred last year. He promised that their sacrifices will not be forgotten and reassured their families that the nation will continue to safeguard its future, despite challenges like narcotics, cybercrime, and terrorism.
