Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, a senior leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), has sharply criticized Sukhdev Dhindsa following his expulsion from the party. Grewal stated that Dhindsa has no authority to reject the decision made by the Akali Dal’s disciplinary committee. He accused Dhindsa of nepotism and asserted that Dhindsa’s family should not attempt to lecture others on party matters.
Grewal emphasized that no individual can monopolize the party’s office or symbol, and highlighted that most delegates of Akali Dal continue to support Sukhbir Badal. He claimed that Dhindsa, who has previously accused others of promoting familyism, is himself the biggest proponent of it.
The Shiromani Akali Dal’s disciplinary committee recently expelled Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa from the party due to his alleged anti-party activities. In addition, the party has also removed eight prominent rebel leaders, including Gurpratap Singh Wadala and Bibi Jagir Kaur, as part of its crackdown on dissent. This decision was made during a meeting of senior leaders, reflecting the party’s stance on maintaining discipline and unity.
