A severe fire broke out early this morning in a two-storey building in Sector-1 of Vasundhara, a posh area of Ghaziabad, after an air conditioner (AC) exploded. The incident, which occurred around 5:30 AM, caused significant alarm among residents.
According to local reports, the AC burst led to a fierce fire that rapidly spread across two floors of the building. The Chief Fire Officer informed that the Vaishali Fire Station received an emergency call and promptly dispatched two fire brigade vehicles to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters worked swiftly to control the blaze, which was brought under control within an hour. A video of the incident shows firemen diligently extinguishing the flames. The rising smoke alerted nearby residents, who quickly gathered and assisted in raising the alarm.
The family residing in the house was awakened by the commotion and managed to escape without injury. The quick response from the fire brigade prevented the fire from causing more extensive damage.
The Chief Fire Officer confirmed that the fire was indeed caused by an explosion in the AC unit. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the explosion and have urged residents to ensure regular maintenance of AC units to prevent similar incidents.
This incident highlights the importance of electrical safety during the summer season when the usage of AC units is at its peak.
