The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday urged the government to provide outgoing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with official accommodation, as he heads a national party. AAP’s Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha, during a press conference, stated that Kejriwal deserves government housing in his capacity as the party’s national convener.
Chadha further shared that Kejriwal is vacating his official residence after stepping down on moral grounds. He emphasized that Kejriwal does not own any property or house, making him eligible for government-provided accommodation.
Chadha expressed hope that this matter would be resolved amicably, without the need for a prolonged fight. He announced that AAP will write to the concerned ministry regarding this issue, seeking an appropriate response from the government.
As the leader of a national political party, the AAP believes Kejriwal should receive the necessary support, including government housing, to continue his public service effectively. They have urged the central government to take swift action in providing the required accommodation.
