Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk at Blair House in Washington, just 100 meters from the White House. The meeting took place in the presence of key Indian officials, including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Kwatra, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. Musk was accompanied by his family members.
This is not the first time Modi and Musk have met. In 2015, during the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to the US, they had an interaction at Tesla’s headquarters in San Jose. At that time, Musk personally gave Modi a tour of the facility, showcasing Tesla’s innovations in clean energy and electric vehicles.
PM Modi’s visit to the US follows his trip to France. During his stay in Washington, he also met National Security Advisor Mike Waltz at Blair House. The two leaders discussed various strategic and defense-related issues.
On Wednesday, PM Modi also met Tulsi Gabbard, a former US Congresswoman who was recently appointed as the Director of National Intelligence by former President Donald Trump. Gabbard, known for her strong ties with India, has been a vocal supporter of US-India relations.
Modi’s visit to the US is expected to strengthen diplomatic ties and boost economic collaboration between the two countries. His meeting with Musk could signal potential future investments by Tesla and SpaceX in India, aligning with the country’s push for clean energy and advanced technology.
