A crucial meeting was held today at Kisan Bhawan, Chandigarh, to discuss the unification of various farmer and labor organizations fighting for their demands. The meeting was attended by several farmer leaders, including Sarwan Singh Pandher, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Joginder Singh Ugrahan, Raminder Singh Patiala, and Lakhwinder Singh Lakhowal. A seven-member delegation from the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, including Pandher, was also present.
The primary agenda was to initiate a coordinated struggle for farmers and laborers. However, the absence of the United Kisan Morcha (Non-political) led to the meeting concluding without a final decision. Participants emphasized the need for unity among all farmer organizations to strengthen their movement.
To move forward, the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha will now hold discussions with the United Kisan Morcha (Non-political) leaders to seek their participation in the joint struggle. Only after these talks, a decision will be made on the future course of action.
Leaders present at the meeting stressed the importance of working together to achieve long-pending demands related to farmers’ rights, minimum support prices, and labor concerns. They highlighted that divisions within the movement could weaken their collective efforts.
The leaders of the United Kisan Morcha have assured that they will soon call another meeting to deliberate on the matter and take a final decision. Until then, farmer unions will continue their discussions to ensure a united front in their ongoing struggle.
