During this session, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on February 1. This will be her 8th consecutive budget.

The session will begin on January 31 with a joint meeting of both houses of Parliament. President Droupadi Murmu will address this session, as is the tradition. After the President’s address, the Economic Survey will be presented.

The Budget Session will be held in two phases. The first phase will run from January 31 to February 13, during which there will be nine sittings. After a break, the second phase will begin on March 10 and continue until April 4. During this second phase, 27 meetings will be held.

The Budget Session is an important event in India’s parliamentary process. It sets the economic agenda for the country and outlines government spending and revenue collection plans for the upcoming financial year.
