Congress leader Randeep Surjewala launched a scathing attack on Maharashtra’s ruling Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, accusing it of corruption, repression, and fostering criminal activities. Speaking at a press conference in Mumbai, the All India Congress Committee General Secretary alleged that the Mahayuti government is looting Mumbai and Maharashtra’s resources while failing to protect democracy.
Surjewala accused the alliance of shielding dangerous criminals and encouraging lawlessness. He pointed to the recent killing of former minister Baba Siddiqui in Bandra, allegedly orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, as evidence of a breakdown in law and order. “The entertainment industry, including Bollywood, is under threat, with actors facing death threats and attacks on their homes,” he added.
The Congress leader also criticized the Mahayuti government for destroying industrial progress, driving away investments, and creating unemployment in the state. He claimed that inflation has made life unbearable for ordinary citizens, while mismanagement is pushing projects and jobs out of Maharashtra.
Surjewala termed the Mahayuti leaders as “robbers in the form of rulers,” blaming them for turning Mumbai into a hub of fear and lawlessness. The ruling alliance has yet to respond to these allegations.
