A day before Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra files her nomination for the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll, her brother Rahul Gandhi expressed his full support. Rahul, the former Wayanad MP, stated on X (formerly Twitter) that he couldn’t imagine a better candidate for the constituency than his sister.
Priyanka Vadra will file her nomination papers tomorrow, with key Congress leaders in attendance. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, former party president Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi will all be present to show their support. Priyanka has been serving as the Congress General Secretary for several years and is now stepping into the electoral arena in Wayanad.
Rahul Gandhi, in his post, emphasized the special connection he feels with the people of Wayanad, adding that Priyanka is the best choice to represent them. He expressed confidence that she would powerfully raise the voice of the Wayanad people in the Lok Sabha, working to meet their needs and address their concerns.
Priyanka’s entry into the Wayanad bypoll is expected to boost Congress’ chances, as she has been an active and prominent figure within the party. The election campaign is likely to gather momentum with her nomination.
