Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election rally in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, in connection with the upcoming state Assembly elections on October 5. Accusing Modi of being an “expert in lying,” Kharge pointed out unfulfilled promises made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the people.

The rally took place on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. Kharge highlighted Gandhi’s teachings of truth and non-violence, questioning the government’s commitment to these values. “I don’t want to say this, but the people in power need to answer how much truth and how much lies they tell,” he remarked.

Kharge also accused Modi of being “the leader of those who break trust.” He claimed that Modi has made numerous false promises over the last decade, raising doubts about the BJP’s accountability.

Also present at the rally were former Chief Minister of Haryana Bhupinder Singh Hooda and former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik. Kharge’s remarks were part of Congress’s efforts to rally support against the BJP in Haryana.
