A tragic accident on Monday afternoon in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, resulted in the deaths of at least three people, including a child and a woman. The incident occurred on the Batala-Kadin road when a speeding private bus lost control and crashed into the bus stop in Shahbad village. Reports indicate that another woman is also feared dead.
The collision injured around 15 people, with the condition of approximately six individuals described as serious. Emergency services quickly transported six of the injured to Batala Civil Hospital, while another six were referred to hospitals in Amritsar for advanced medical care.
Eyewitnesses reported that the accident was devastating, with the force of the impact causing the lantern from the bus stop to fall inside the bus.
