A goods train derailed near Tupakdih in Jharkhand’s Bokaro district on Thursday, causing a major disruption in train services. According to the Bokaro Railway Protection Force (RPF), two coaches of the freight train went off the tracks and overturned between the Tupakdih and Rajbera sections.
As a result, train traffic on this important route was affected, with more than 10 passenger and goods trains being diverted to alternate routes. The RPF also confirmed that the downline track has been completely damaged, forcing the suspension of train movement on this line.
Authorities have launched restoration work to clear the tracks and resume normal operations. However, the exact cause of the derailment is still under investigation. Railway officials and engineers are on-site to assess the damage and begin repair work.
Passengers are advised to check train schedules and plan their journeys accordingly as delays and further disruptions are expected until the track is fully restored.
