On Wednesday, the Congress party lodged a police complaint against Union Minister Ravneet Bittu and four leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena for making controversial remarks and threats against Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The complaint was filed at the Tughlaq Road police station by Congress treasurer Ajay Maken, who also demanded an FIR be registered.
Ajay Maken stated that Rahul Gandhi has been receiving death threats because of his advocacy for Dalits, backward classes, minorities, and the Constitution. The Congress party urged the police to register an FIR under sections 351, 352, 353, and 61 of the Indian Penal Code against Ravneet Bittu, BJP leader Tarvinder Marwah, Uttar Pradesh Government Minister Raghuraj Singh, and Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad.
Notably, Ravneet Bittu criticized Rahul Gandhi for his comments on Sikhs during a recent visit to the United States, calling him the country’s biggest enemy and terrorist. Other leaders also made controversial statements against Rahul Gandhi.
