The Supreme Court has refused to hear a petition filed by examinees challenging the government’s decision to cancel the UGC-NET exam. The petitioners had sought to overturn the cancellation, arguing that it disrupted their plans and preparations. However, the court declined to intervene, leaving the government’s decision in place.
The court noted that a new exam has been scheduled for August 21, in which approximately 9 lakh students are expected to participate. The decision brings clarity to the situation, allowing students to focus on the upcoming exam. Despite the disappointment of the petitioners, the rescheduled exam date offers a fresh opportunity for those affected to appear and perform well.
