A Delhi court today extended the judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal until August 20 in connection with a corruption case related to the alleged Excise policy scam. The case, filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has drawn significant public attention due to Kejriwal’s prominent role as the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Kejriwal, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing, was produced in court through video conference. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja presided over the hearing and decided to extend his custody. The court is also expected to review a supplementary charge sheet filed by the CBI against Kejriwal on August 12.

The extension of custody comes as the investigation into the alleged scam continues to unfold, with both supporters and critics closely watching the developments. The case has significant political implications, given Kejriwal’s position as the Chief Minister of Delhi and the leader of AAP, a party that has championed anti-corruption efforts. The upcoming court proceedings are likely to play a crucial role in determining the course of the case.
