In a tragic incident at a coaching center in Delhi, three students lost their lives due to waterlogging in the basement. The Supreme Court has taken suo motu notice of the incident, demanding a response from the Central and Delhi governments. The bench suggested that coaching institutions should operate online until they fully comply with safety regulations and other basic norms. The court pointed out that coaching centers are playing with the lives of students who come from different parts of the country.

Last Friday, the Delhi High Court had handed over the investigation of this case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The Supreme Court’s intervention underscores the urgent need for stricter safety measures and regulations for coaching centers to prevent such tragedies in the future.

This incident has raised serious concerns about the safety standards of coaching centers across the country, prompting authorities to reevaluate and enforce stricter compliance with safety norms to protect students’ lives.
