Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the revised composition of the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), aimed at enhancing the country’s policy formulation and implementation process. This significant move introduces Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as an ex officio member, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusive and diverse policy-making.
In addition to Chouhan’s appointment, several Union Ministers have been included as special invitees. These include JP Nadda, HD Kumaraswamy, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Ram Mohan Naidu, Jual Oram, Chirag Paswan, and Annapurna Devi. The inclusion of these experienced leaders is expected to bring a wealth of knowledge and varied perspectives to the NITI Aayog, fostering more comprehensive and effective policy decisions.
NITI Aayog, established in 2015, plays a crucial role in driving India’s development agenda, focusing on promoting cooperative federalism, fostering competitive federalism, and ensuring the involvement of states in policy-making processes. The revised composition is seen as a step towards strengthening the institution’s capabilities and broadening its scope of expertise.
This update in the composition underscores the government’s dedication to dynamic governance and its continuous efforts to address the evolving needs and challenges of the nation. The new members are anticipated to contribute significantly to NITI Aayog’s mission of achieving sustainable and inclusive growth for India.
