The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the drug case has issued fresh summons to Bikram Singh Majithia, senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and former minister, in connection with a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. According to sources, Majithia has been directed to appear in Patiala on July 18th.

This development comes after an earlier legal challenge where Majithia had contested the summons issued by the SIT in the High Court, resulting in the withdrawal of those summons. However, today’s issuance of fresh summons indicates a renewed focus by the SIT on questioning Majithia in connection with the ongoing investigation.

The case has drawn significant attention due to its implications on political and legal fronts, highlighting efforts to combat drug-related issues in the region. Majithia, a prominent political figure, has maintained his innocence and indicated willingness to cooperate with the investigative process.

As the situation evolves, the summoning of Majithia underscores the continued scrutiny and legal complexities surrounding the high-profile drug case, reflecting ongoing efforts to uphold transparency and accountability in law enforcement and political spheres alike.
